1. Welcome
~~~~~~~~~
Explore the great unknown- a phrase often associated with
space travel,
however the great unknown is present every moment of our day
and what fun
it is to explore.
2. Reflection
~~~~~~~~~
Discover the unknown in every experience.
3. Conversations
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many conversations start from the premise of wanting to
confirm what we
already know or think we know about the topic or the other
person(s), ie we
stay with what we know.
Exploring the unknown does not come with a map, however by
listening and
asking questions we can explore new territory which can be
exciting, scary
or just interesting.
Each question can take us down another branch or fork in the
path we are
exploring.
Open ended questions that start with how, what, or why can
shed light onto
the path.
Listen for the unknown rather than what you know or think you
know.
4. Learning
~~~~~~~~
The more I know the less I know.
In many of my jobs I was paid for what I knew ie for my
expertise. Being an
expert is OK but even experts can learn and do not know it
all.
The best part of starting a new job for me was exploring all
the unknown
parts of the job and fitting the now known into what I already
knew. At
times what I thought I knew, I did not really know.
Saying "I do not know" was like jumping of a high
cliff ie very scary and
threatening. Then I realised that not knowing was an
opportunity to learn
and get another perspective.
"I do not know but I will get back to you" became my
reply.
Exploring the unknown and learning from it can happen
everyday.

6. About Options Alive and Learning2gether.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Options Alive was founded in 1998 by Bronwyn Buck to provide a
comprehensive range of services for people that support
lifelong learning
and developing strategies for living a life based on choices
that are
aligned with their values.
Delivering results by developing, supporting and recognising
the value of
the individual and teams within an organisation has always
been Bronwyn's
focus. With experience at general management level including
strategic,
marketing, operational and project management roles, Bronwyn
now provides
her expertise to individuals and organisations.
Options Alive develops and encourages Strategic Conversations
within an
organisation to support people and teams to deliver results
including
improved profitability, productivity, staff retention and
customer service.
Options Alive learning2gether.com service provides a range of
TeleLearning
groups to suit the needs of clients. Every individual plus
every
organisation has a wealth of knowledge that can be tapped into
and shared
in an environment that encourages learning from each other.
TeleLearning Group calls
For the last 2 years, I have been exploring learning with
others via a
group telephone call. It is similar to a teleconference in
that the
technology is the same but the focus of the call is to learn
with each
other about a topic that everyone is interested in. An
environment of trust
and respect is created so that learning can occur from each
and everyone on
the call. I have worked with people from various parts
of the world on the
one call. A wonderful feeling of a global community develops
on the calls.
Organisations can benefit from TeleLearning Groups calls as an
adjunct to
face to face training/development without the cost of travel
or hiring a room.
TeleLearning calls can tap into the knowledge of individuals
that cannot be
captured and stored in a central database.
